Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Unfortunately, over the past 18 months, we have seen a drastic surge in domestic violence incidents—many of us know someone who has been affected by domestic violence first-hand. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we want to highlight an organization that is working to help all affected.

Children and youth are often some of the most displaced by domestic violence. My Friend’s Place offers resources to youth who haven’t always had people be very good to them.  Homelessness is oftentimes a result of rejection or abandonment in the home. My Friend’s Place has helped thousands of youth around Los Angeles move from homelessness and abandonment towards wellness, stability, and self-sufficiency.  You can learn more about their efforts and how to participate in this issue’s Simply Good.
