Hello!
Welcome to the new Rework Workspace newsletter! Our space is filled with resources for you, and I am so excited to tell you about it. We are in the process of redesigning our resource library to better equip you and your team to attain your DEI goals.
We have carved out areas specifically for DEI champions, recruiters and individual contributors, but for this inaugural newsletter, I thought it best to start in our DEI Sandbox — designed as a place to P.L.A.Y.! Its resources were developed to help you Practice, Learn, and ApplY DEI concepts and strategies, so YOU can be a driver of real change in your workplace.
One of the resources in the DEI Sandbox is the Sparking Awareness learning path. Developing awareness is at the very beginning of any DEI journey and your organization’s DEI journey starts first and foremost with you.
How can you possibly address bias in your workplace if you don’t identify it in your own tendencies and attitudes first? Where do you even start? The Sparking Awareness learning path provides general awareness of DEI concepts, while also laying the groundwork for identifying and interrupting these biases in your workplace.
Walk away with a new perspective. Sparking Awareness was designed to help you take the blinders off. Understand what unconscious biases are and, more importantly, which ones you carry. Learn more about microaggressions and see the bigger picture as it relates to the most common DEI gaps in the corporate landscape today.
As the focus of our newsletter evolves, you’ll see the shift to introducing you to concepts that will allow you to turn work into play in our DEI Sandbox, as well as more information about resources for our specialty areas outlined above. For now, I encourage you to let Sparking Awareness empower those imperative first steps of your DEI journey. This resource is available exclusively to our Rework Workspace members, so if you haven’t already done so, come join us!
With appreciation,
Stacey Gordon, MBA
