How do you support your LGBTQ+ employees?

Hello!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) has selected “Together We RISE” as its theme for 2022. To help raise voices and awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings, NBCF has developed a myriad of resources to help you prioritize your health and encourage others to do the same. Preventative health screenings are the most effective tool in taking on any kind of cancer, so don’t let this month go by without doing something that puts your health first.

“Together We RISE” is such an apt theme for so many people. For example, yesterday was National Coming Out Day for those identifying as LGBTQ+. Although strides have been made to increase belonging and inclusion in this community, there is still much to be done — especially in the workplace. In Simply Diversity, I provide simple, implementable-today-ways to ensure your organization is a safe place for your LGTBQ+ employees.

If you’re looking for more ideas, check out our Simply Good article this week, highlighting what some companies are doing to support LGTBQ+ within their own ranks.

Lastly, there are only two DEI Townhalls left as we wrap up this #WorkTogether LinkedIn series. I want to thank all of the experts that have joined me in these discussions, as well as YOU for participating and committing to influencing real change in your organization.

I hope you’ll join us for these last two sessions, plus a bonus workshop! Check out What’s Happening for more details.

With appreciation,

Stacey Gordon, MBA

How queer-friendly is your workplace?

After Roe v Wade was overturned in June, many in the LGBTQ+ community fear that threats to queer rights are on the horizon. There is no time like the present for workplace leaders and allies to step up their game to support LGBTQ+ colleagues.

LinkedIn Live Town Hall Events

We are continuing our Townhall series with the theme #DISRUPT

We’ve been discussing quiet quitting, quiet firing, back-to-the-office mandates, flex work, mass resignations, and how to retain CDOs – just to name a few topics. We started with DEI, continued with HR, and next up are Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

Our ERG experts are diving into ways to surface pathways for moving forward. Instead of being divisive, it’s time to find ways for all company stakeholders to #WorkTogether.

Join us for this lively discussion on October 19th.

Join us for our final Townhall on October 25th as we continue our discussion with Talent experts. We will be closing out our DEI Townhall series with a raw and real conversation about what it will take to retain talent in the workplace with future-forward strategies for company stakeholders to #WorkTogether.
