Hello,
In a time when Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) are more critical than ever, the field remains fragmented, with multiple organizations offering certifications and training programs that vary in content, quality, and standards. While these certifying bodies and educators have made significant contributions to advancing DEIA education and leadership, the absence of a centralized standard to ensure consistency, credibility, and effectiveness across the field presents both challenges and opportunities.
The shifting landscapes in both the public and private sectors have heightened the need for thoughtful, informed, and impactful DEIA efforts. Yet, without a unified framework, the impact of DEIA work is often diluted, leading to misalignment, inconsistency, and even performative activism rather than real, sustainable change. Organizations, businesses, and institutions seeking DEIA-certified professionals face confusion about which certifications and/or trainings truly reflect a deep understanding of DEIA principles and best practices.
We are calling upon all entities that offer DEIA certification and education to come together and forge a community-driven coalition. This coalition will work collaboratively to evaluate our collective offerings, foster alignment in best practices, and establish an authoritative body dedicated to advancing DEIA education and implementation. Our goal is not to homogenize DEIA but to honor its diversity, while ensuring that all certified professionals meet rigorous, research-backed standards.
We cannot do this alone. We need partners who understand the urgency and long-term impact of this initiative. We invite organizations, independent trainers, educators, certification bodies, DEIA thought leaders, donors, foundations, and advocates to join us in making this vision a reality.
Together, we can:
- Build a cohesive, community-centered approach to DEIA certification and training.
- Amplify the impact of DEIA education across sectors and communities.
- Set a unified standard for DEIA excellence that fosters lasting, meaningful change.
Let’s connect, collaborate, and co-create a future where DEIA remains an essential, transformative force.
